Event Details
On Saturday 22 April, Voices Gloucester will host an afternoon of free environment-themed events at the Heritage Hub, as part of Earth Day.
From 1pm-4pm there will be free activities for all ages, with the opportunity to develop sustainable skills, including;
• Sustainably revive old clothes or even totally reimagine one of your wardrobe wrecks, with Gloucester community artist Amy ‘Hub of Happiness’ Freeman – bring your own garments to work on
• Create your own herbal remedy pouch by exploring the secrets of our Saxon ancestors with Elizabeth from Tir Na Nog Heritage Education
• Discover the county’s ongoing relationship with the environment and the impact of the climate – including the 1607 ‘tsunami’ that devastated the west coast of England drowning livestock and people as it surged. Artist Carolyn Black will investigate our connection with the Severn – including some fascinating flood projections.
The Museum of Gloucester team will also be at the Hub, connecting everyone with the The Wild Escape project, a major new programme that has united hundreds of museums and schools in a celebration of UK wildlife and creativity.
Places are all free, though booking here in advance secures your place.
