Schools Heritage Conference
NEW DATE **9:30 – 2:30 Friday 28th June 2024**

We are delighted to announce that Melita Thomas, Author and Historian, will be headlining this year’s Heritage Conference Day on the 28 June.
Melita is a published Author, having written books on the Medieval, Tudor and Stuart periods. This includes The King’s Pearl: Henry VIII and his daughter Mary as well as her most recent book, 1000 Tudors. The incredible lives and deaths of 1000 Tudor people are explored in this authoritative single volume: royalty, military and religious leaders, Lords Chancellor, Knights of the Garter, philosophers, traders, gardeners, musicians, rebels, witches, and many more feature in this illustrated compendium.

Melita also contributes to various publications and runs the Tudor Times an informative and fascinating online repository for all things Tudor and Stuart. Melita will be giving a fascinating talk on the Tudors. And in costume!

The conference day will also include history workshops on fake news, the slave trade, local history, Romani life, Llanthony Priory and Gloucester manufacturing.

The day is completely FREE and will take place between 9.30am and 2.30pm at the aspirational Business School at the Oxstalls Campus, University of Gloucestershire. Although aimed at history students from year 10 and 12, pupils studying English and Politics will also benefit.

To book your places, contact Jemma Fowkes with your name, school and how many spaces you would like. We hope to see you there!
